- Two-step sign-in for committee roles, with passkeys, authenticator apps or email codes.
- Passwords are checked against known data breaches before they’re accepted.
- Children’s details for Santa letters are encrypted and deleted on a date you set.
- Card details never touch our servers: payments go through Stripe.

Things PTAs ask us
Who is PTA Central for?
School PTAs, PTFAs and Friends associations in the UK. It’s built around UK rules and habits: Gift Aid, HMRC, Charity Commission-style accounts, UK banks and pounds and pence.
How does the free trial work?
You get 30 days with everything switched on, and you don’t need a card to start. If you’d like to carry on, you pay for a year from your members’ area, or a local business can sponsor you.
Do you take a cut of our ticket sales or donations?
No. Card payments go straight into your PTA’s own Stripe or SumUp account. You pay the card company’s usual fee and nothing to us. Your yearly price is all you ever pay PTA Central.
Can we use our own web address?
Yes. Every PTA gets an address like hillside.ptacentral.co.uk, and you can connect your own domain (yourpta.co.uk) whenever you like. You only change two settings with whoever you bought it from, and your email carries on as it is.
We already use a spreadsheet for our accounts. Is it hard to switch?
You can start part-way through the year: add your bank balances on the day you start and carry on from there. Bank statements can be imported from a file, so you don’t have to type them in.
Is our data safe?
Each PTA has its own separate database and encryption keys, stored in the UK (Amazon Web Services, London). Committee roles use two-step sign-in, and sensitive details such as children’s Santa letters and bank details for claims are encrypted.
Who owns our data?
You do. Your PTA is the data controller and we process data only to run PTA Central for you, under our data processing agreement. We never sell it or use it for advertising.
Does everyone on the committee need the app?
No. Everything works in a web browser on a phone, tablet or computer. The app is there for those who want it, and it’s free to download.
